Poem | Echoes of Rebirth

With alarming accuracy, I
Hear
The sounds of heartbreak,
The phone is forever silent,
Now.
I learned to love again, in
sharing
Mundane updates of eating
well
And losing weight in kilos,
In giggles, while spilling tea,
Oh really? In wide-eyed faces,
Tainted with raised eyebrows
In shared hair-pins, and
Borrowed combs, in dresses
Bought and left as keepsake.
I learned to live again, in
Giving and getting love,
From all the women
I had known
For so long.
